• In January 2015 Baroness Doreen Lawrence, the mother of murdered teenager Stephen Lawrence has been awarded an honorary doctorate from DMU in recognition of her long fight for justice and commitment to human rights.[1] She has been announced as De Montfort University's next chancellor. [2]
