Robert J. Abernethy
Robert J. Abernethy "is President of American Standard Development Company served in the U.S. Navy Supply Corps and was formerly employed by Hughes Aircraft. He served as Commissioner of the California Transportation Commission, the Los Angeles Telecommunications Commission, and the Los Angeles Planning & Zoning Commission and was Director of the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Metropolitan Water District.
"From 2000 to 2004, he served on the California State Board of Education. He’s currently a Trustee of Johns Hopkins University, Loyola Marymount University and Davidson College and serves on the Advisory Council of the Johns Hopkins University Nitze School of Advanced International Studies. He’s a Board member of the Atlantic Council of the US, TechNet, and the Assembly International Relations & Protocol Foundation and is a Board member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Brookings Council at the Brookings Institution. He also serves on the Boards of many cultural and community organizations, including the Music Center of Los Angeles County, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, the John Douglas French Alzheimer's Foundation and the William H. Parker Los Angeles Police Foundation. He resides in Los Angeles."[1]
