Educators for Social Responsibility ESR

"Founded in 1982, ESR provides educational resources, programs, and professional development services for schools preK-12 in three broad areas: 1) student skill development - working with teachers to help students develop social skills, emotional competencies, and qualities of character that increase interpersonal effectiveness, and reduce intolerance, aggression, and anti-social behavior; 2) school and classroom climate - helping schools create safe, caring, respectful, and disciplined learning environments that promote healthy development and academic success for all students; and 3) response to social crises and world events - helping educators respond effectively to local, national, and international crises related to interpersonal and systemic violence, intolerance, and global conflicts and war." Richmond Mayo-Smith was one of their cofounders.
