Carlton Brick established the libertarian football supporters' association, Libero!, in 1996. The group served as a front for the LM network.
The Universtity of Roehampton website states that he completed his PhD, titled "Fandemonium: the discourse of authenticity in the consumption of the FA Carling Premier League", in January 2002. The thesis description stated that "the aim of the research is to explore how identities and meanings are constructed through and around notions of football fandom, within mainstreamed and subcultural contexts and discourses. Methodologically the research employs a case study model using discourse and textual analysis." [1]
Has been a lecturer in Sociology at the University of Paisley in Scotland since 2003.[2]
