Viron P. Vaky, "formerly a career Foreign Service officer, was Assistant Secretary of State for Inter-American Affairs from 1978 to 1980. He is currently Associate Dean at the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University." [1]
In 2000 he was a "senior fellow at the Inter-American Dialogue. Formerly, he was assistant secretary of state for inter-American affairs and U.S. ambassador to Colombia." [2]
