Type Media Center
Type Media Center was founded in 1966 as The Nation Institute. It described itself as a "non-profit home for independent journalists and truth-tellers at all stages of their careers."[1] Type Media Center contains varying programs to support authors, journalists, and activists, including a publishing operation, Bold Type Books (formerly known as Nation Books), the Type Investigations fund (formerly known as the Investigative Fund) which supports investigative journalism, fellowships supporting over 25 reporters per year, prize programs, and events that "provide a platform for key journalists, thinkers, and activists to discuss the urgent and important issues of our time."[1]
As of 2019, Type Media sponsored 20 Journalism Fellows and 9 Type Investigations Reporting Fellows, including Gary Younge and Naomi Klein.[2]
