This 4 page, 1986 marketing research document from R.J. Reynolds describes the Smoker Universe as "downscale, non-college track, open-collar." It contains a graph showing Salem, Winston, Marlboro and Kool smokers as less-educated, tending to have Tupperware parties, use Prell shampoo and buy generic brands.
