"Siegel leads one of the largest academic programs in pediatric oncology in the nation. He has been active in leadership roles in the National Leukemia Broadcast Council, the Make-a-Wish Foundation and the American Cancer Society. He also is on the board of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, National Childhood Cancer Foundation, and the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s Young Adult Cancer Alliance. Siegel recently served on the Institute of Medicine (National Academies) committee on access to new drugs for children with cancer. He is the recipient of numerous honors, including the National Caring Award and the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Boston University.[1]
