- February 8-11: If you want to go to the Public Affairs Council’s National PAC Conference it will cost non-members a cool $US825 for registration. For your money you will get to hear about the "nuts and bolts" of managing a political action committee (PAC) from Sheree Anne Kelly, the Associate Director of the Public Affairs Council. Ken Gross from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP will outline all you need to know on how to "operate your corporate PAC" while Michelle Cook, the PAC Director for Weyerhaeuser, will explain how "you can ensure a supportive executive group and maximize their participation in the PAC".
- Media reports have suggested that Tony Blair may hold the British General Election 2005 as early as this month. Blair's aides have denied the rumour. [1]
May 2005
- This month is considered the most likely for the British General Election 2005, according to officials from the UK Labour Party. [2] In November 2004 Michael White, the political editor of The Guardian, identified a likely date, speaking of "Mr Blair's 5.5.5 timetable: the expected election pencilled in for May 5 2005." [3]
