Silver Lake Partners was founded in 1999 by David J. Roux, Glenn H. Hutchins and James A. Davidson, as part of Silver Lake. SLP "pursues large-scale private investments in companies within the technology, tech-enabled and related growth industries. Silver Lake Partners seeks to achieve superior risk-adjusted returns by investing with the strategic insight of an experienced industry participant, the operating skill of a world-class management team, and the investing capabilities of a leading private equity firm," according to its website.[1]

Silver Lake, housing Silver Lake Partners, a company dealing in "technology investing, with approximately $14 billion of assets under management and a team of approximately 100 investment and value creation professionals located around the world ... investing in the world’s leading technology companies and tech-enabled businesses... Silver Lake leverages the deep knowledge and expertise of a global team based in Silicon Valley, New York, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Tokyo," according to their website. The site also states the privately held company's "'portfolio of investments collectively generates more than $30 billion of revenue annually and employs more than 97,000 people internationally."[2]

Ties to Pete Peterson's "Fix the Debt"

The Campaign to Fix the Debt is the latest incarnation of a decades-long effort by former Nixon man turned Wall Street billionaire Pete Peterson to slash earned benefit programs such as Social Security and Medicare under the guise of fixing the nation's "debt problem."
