Shelley Davis

Shelley Davis "has served for over 10 years as an advocate within the Nonprofit Sector. She began her career as an advocate for women working first in social services and then in policy advocacy. As a consultant, Ms. Davis assisted community groups in strategic planning and evaluation processes. Since 1997, she has worked in philanthropic institutions; first at the Field Foundation of Illinois, then at The Ford Foundation in New York, and finally at The Joyce Foundation in Chicago. In her current position at The Joyce Foundation, Ms. Davis is developing a set of goals and recommendations for capacity building support for the foundation’s long-term grantees. She serves as a board member for The Center for Third World Organizing in Oakland, California and for Chicago Women in Philanthropy. She is a native of Chicago and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lawrence University in Wisconsin and a Master of Urban Planning and Policy from University of Illinois at Chicago." [1]
