Potomac Foundation
According to the Potomac Foundation web site, the organization is a "501(c)(3) non-profit, private operating Foundation which conducts policy analysis of international security/economic issues and domestic political developments. These analyses are presented in the form of conferences, seminars and papers which are published and disseminated to the U.S. Congress, the Administration, the media, and other policy organizations."
"The Foundation was organized in August 1988 in Virginia as a non-stock corporation. It operates as a non-profit organization exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended. The founders are a group of business executives with professional backgrounds in international security affairs. They are the directors and officers of the Foundation and all reside in Northern Virginia."[1]
"Principal activities are analysis of public policy in the areas of international security and economic affairs and the operation of the Center for the American Founding."[2]
The organization's Schedule of Events dates from January 1999 to October 2002.

Funding
According to Media Transparency, for the years 1996 through 2000, the Potomac Center received $285,386 in grant funds from neoconservative funders JM Foundation, the John M. Olin Foundation, the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, and the Smith Richardson Foundation. Funds were distributed between the Foundation's Center for the American Founding and Foundation publications.
