Politics and Economics Research Trust
"The Politics and Economics Research Trust (PERT) is a charity to advance the education of the public and in particular to promote for the public benefit research into matters of public taxation, public policy, applied economics and political science and to disseminate the useful results thereof." As the Guardian reported in 2009: "The charity's trustees include prominent Alliance backer, Patrick Barbour, the founder of Reform, a free-market think tank which advocates lower taxes; John Mills, secretary of a Labour Eurosceptic campaign and, until last month, Lord Pearson of Rannoch, the leader of the UK Independence Party."
