Pedro Roig is the Director of the Office of Cuba Broadcasting, a section within the Broadcasting Board of Governors.

Following revelations in September 2006 that TV Marti and Radio Marti, Roig defended the practice of government-funded propaganda units hiring journalists who also worked for other mainstream media outlets. Roig stated that a "firewall" exists between Radio and TV Martí and the White House. "We are totally independent of the tenant of the White House ... When contributors come, we've never told them what they have to do or say," he said. Roig also claimed that it was common for Washington D.C.-based journalists to also work for Voice of America. "It was common practice in Washington where hundreds of journalists have participated [in VOA and other U.S. Broadcasts]," he said. [1]
