Biographical Information
Paul Bateman was appointed as a Pro-Chancellor of the University of Leicester "in 2009. He is Chairman of JPMorgan’s Global Asset Management business and is also a member of JPMorgan's Executive Committee. He travels extensively in Asia, Europe and the US as a senior representative of JPMAM. He joined the company in 1967 as an employee of Save & Prosper – a subsidiary of Robert Fleming & Co following his graduation from Leicester. He became CEO of Save & Prosper in 1987 and then CEO of Robert Fleming’s global asset management business in 1995. After Flemings merged with Chase Manhatten Bank and JPMorgan in 2000, he became CEO of the combined Global Asset management business in 2002 and Chairman in 2007. He has held numerous industry and regulatory body non-executive appointments.
