Nora Lustig "is currently the Director of the Poverty Group of the UNDP in New York.

"Previously, Dr. Lustig was Director of the Center for Studies on Globalization and Development Instituto de Estudios Superiores del Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) Mexico; President of the Universidad de les Americas, Puebla; Professor of Economics at the Universidad de les Americas; Senior Advisor on Poverty and Chief of the Poverty and Inequality Unit at the Inter-American Development Bank; Senior Fellow of the Foreign Policy Studies Program at the Brookings Institution (currently, she is a nonresident Senior Fellow); professor of economics at El Colegio de México; Visiting Fellow at MIT, and, Visiting Professor at the University of California at Berkeley. She co-directed the World Bank’s World Development Report 2000/2001 "Attacking Poverty".

"Nora Lustig was founding member and President of LACEA from 1998-99. She was also a member of the Commission on Macroeconomics and Health (WHO) and is president of the Mexican Commission. She is a member of a number of editorial and advisory boards. Dr. Lustig has published extensively in the fields of economic development and determinants of poverty and inequality. Her work has focused on Mexico and other Latin American Economies. Nora Lustig obtained her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley." [1]
