"Millennium Promise was founded in 2005 by philanthropist and business leader Ray Chambers and economist Jeffrey D. Sachs to advance the global agenda to meet the basic needs of the world's poorest people. In 2002, UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan commissioned the UN Millennium Project, appointing Professor Sachs as director." [1]
