Biographical Information

Mr Kevin Hand has been a "De Montfort University Governor since 2009 and is a member of the Audit Committee. He was born in Leicester and educated at Ratcliffe College and the College of Art in Leicester, one of the institutions which merged to create Leicester Polytechnic, the forerunner to De Montfort University. Kevin, a media expert, is Chairman of the Professional Publishers Association, Chairman of Dods PLC, and Honorary Vice-President of EMMA (The European Magazine Media Association).

"Kevin has spent his career working in the media and publishing industry. He was Chief Executive of Emap, one of the UK’s leading media companies, which he joined in 1983 as the circulation director of the group's Consumer Magazine business and later became the head of French operations, living part of the week in Paris. He became CEO in 1998 and resigned in 2001. Kevin has been married and has four daughters. He enjoys opera and reading sports biographies. He supports Leicester Tigers Rugby Club and Leicester City Football Club. "[1]
