Biographical Information
"I’ve had the opportunity to work at the intersection of policy, press, politics and technology my entire career culminating in global philanthropy as the CEO of the United Nations Foundation. From serving as press secretary to Senator Gary Hart and in his 1984 presidential campaign to 12 years at U.S. News & World Report magazine to six years at the top level of AOL, I’ve participated in a communications revolution.
"I come to Virgin Unite as a partner in two areas – finding new ways to connect and eliminate malaria and supporting the creation of the Elders. In both cases, the UN Foundation saw an opportunity to partner with Virgin Unite and to help it meet its vision. My long experience of building smart corporate philanthropy made me eager to see how Virgin would take it a chapter further.
"I love serving as a Virgin Unite Trustee because it gives me a chance to see a company using its assets as a force for good and leading by example. I find the opportunities that Virgin Unite creates to make a difference are unique, large-scale and compelling." [1]
