Biographical Information
Retired Chairman of the Board, Merck and Company, Inc.
"Mr. Huck was elected to the Board of Trustees of Penn State University "by the delegates from industrial societies for a three-year term beginning July 1977, and was reelected for four succeeding terms through 1992. He was elected by the Trustees to three consecutive one-year terms as Vice President of the Board, and to three consecutive terms as President of the Board, from 1988 through 1990. Some of his numerous committee assignments included vice chair of the Committee on Finance from 1982-1984 and a member for ten years, membership to the Executive Committee from 1985-1987 and 1991, the Committee on Educational Policy for nine years, the Committee on Physical Plant from 1985-1987, The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center Advisory Committee from 1977-1987, the Special Advisory Committee on Affirmative Action from 1985-1987, and the Special Advisory Committee on Development.
"In addition, Mr. Huck chaired the Trustee Presidential Selection Committee in 1990, served as Consultant to the Trustee Presidential Selection Committee in 1995, served on the Distinguished Alumni Award Screening Committee for five years, was a member of the Penn State Fund Council in 1977 and 1978, and served as Trustee Representative at Meetings of the Alumni Association Executive Board from 1979-1981."[1]
