Biographical Information

"Executive, entrepreneur, technologist—After working as Exxon’s Director of R&D, Mr. Cusumano founded Catalytica, Inc., a public company comprised of two business units, Catalytica Energy Systems and Catalytica Pharmaceuticals. He served as President and CEO, and subsequently as Chairman. Catalytica Pharmaceuticals grew in less than five years from four to 2000 people, $500 milion in revenue, and a market cap of $1billion. After selling the company to DSM Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Cusumano moved to Prague, where he and his wife, Inez, bought, renovated and now operate Chateau Mcely, a 5-star, award-winning, castle hotel, spa and retreat. A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, it was designated by The European Union as the only “Green” 5-STAR hotel in Central Europe. Mr. Cusumano has published two books and numerous articles on technology, business, entrepreneurship and leadership. "[1]
