JUSTICE was founded in 1957. [1]

"JUSTICE is governed by an Executive Board which meets at least six times a year. Currently chaired by Jennifer McDermott, the members of the Board have considerable experience of the voluntary sector and/or the legal profession.

"The Board is appointed by and accountable to the members of Council. The Council is chaired by Baroness Kennedy of the Shaws QC.

"JUSTICE's two vice chairs are Lord Hunt of the Wirral and Baroness Ludford MEP.

"The Council, which meets twice a year, oversees the development of our work. It includes prominent members of the legal profession and academic world who are elected at JUSTICE's Annual General Meeting, which all members are eligible to attend.

"The Director of JUSTICE is Roger Smith." [2]
