Background
"J. Tayloe Emery's work includes developing and producing an Emmy nominated global HIV/aids and poverty television commercial for the ONE campaign starring Brad Pitt, Bono, Julia Roberts, Al Pacino and George Clooney; producing and directing National Geographic interviews in Timbuktu, Mali while riding along with Matt Damon's Running the Sahara documentary and managing celebrity outreach on National Geographic's "Genographic" project; producing television and web spots for Bob Geldof's 2005 Live 8 Concerts and Al Gore's 2008 Live Earth India Concert; developing a holiday cause marketing campaign for OLPC with Tom Brady; producing a half dozen videos for WWF's Earth Hour 2009; and, executive producing the Nashville 4 Africa concert starring the African Children's Choir, Keith Urban and Faith Hill.
"In 2004, I helped organize and run both of Brad Pitt's trips to Ethiopia and South Africa, televised to 11 million viewers on ABC's Primetime Live with Diane Sawyer. I have traveled through parts of Zambia, South Africa and Tanzania with actors Matt Damon and Ben Affleck; Ghana and Uganda with New England quarterback Tom Brady; Nigeria, Lesotho and Rwanda with U2’s Bono and NBC’s Brian Williams; and trekked through the Sahara Desert outside of Timbuktu, Mali and into Mauritania with National Geographic and the “Running The Sahara” expedition.
"In 2005 in the run up to the Live 8 concerts, I conceived and helped produce the ONE by ONE television commercial, starring a who's who of celebrity activists that was nominated for a “Best Commercial” Emmy. It was the first AIDS/hiv PSA ever broadcast over a major network during prime-time television hours (ABC) and was broadcast across all Viacom, Fox and CBS properties. I followed that up with another award winning commercial for ONE with actor Matt Damon in 2007 and have recently launched a consulting firm to bring this experience to other organizations." [2]
