The Integral Institute says its mission "is to awaken humanity to full self-awareness. By providing research, education and events that foster intentional, behavioral, cultural and social self-awareness, the Institute helps global leaders from all arenas to improve the human condition..."
"The Institute’s roots lie in the work of philosopher Ken Wilber, generally regarded as the world’s most influential Integral thinker. He is the first philosopher to have his collected works published while still alive.
"In the late 1990s, Wilber was approached by philanthropists who recognized the Integral framework’s potential to transform people and institutions. In the following years, the Institute built the structure, community and vehicles for incubating formal Integral study: book, video and audio publishing; accredited education; scholar advisors; and programs that reached out to teachers and learners alike.
"With the 2008 launch of Integral Life — a sister organization created specifically to nurture the already-vibrant global base of individual practitioners — Integral Institute is now free to cultivate the academic environment, leadership, and donor relationships that will carry Integral thought into the 21st century."
