Gemma Mortensen is UK Director of Crisis Action. She currently leads our work on Iran.

"Gemma worked previously as a public outreach consultant to the International Criminal Court, focusing on Sudan. She has worked on human rights issues for the UK Mission to the United Nations in New York and for the European Commission Delegation in Geneva.

"Prior to this, she was stationed in Sudan: for the European Commission and then with International Media Support. She has reported and produced for the BBC World Service and written on international affairs issues for various publications." [1]

" She holds a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University and the European Masters in Human Rights and Democratisation." [2]
