Frederick L. Jones II
Frederick L. Jones II is the United States National Security Council spokesman. He attended Howard University, studying history and political science and later University of California at Davis law school. He graduated in 1996. He spent a year in Amsterdam in 1995, studying European law. In Amsterdam he went to the U.S. embassy and took the foreign service exam, which led to his first posting in Madrid, Spain as the U.S. Embassy's deputy press attache. After two years there, he returned to Washington for a job in the Department of State press office, where he eventually found himself arranging interviews for then-Secretary of State Colin L. Powell. In 2003, he moved over to the NSC as deputy spokesman. He was formally named to his current job in June 2005. Frederick Jones, was born in 1970. He has lived in San Francisco, and Baltimore.
