Biographical Information

"Federica Prina is a human rights specialist – particularly in Russia – and focuses on freedom of expression, access to information and minority protection. Since joining Global Partners & Associates, she has participated in a scoping study on freedom of expression in Cameroon for the British High Commission and developed a pilot project on minority rights in Russia for the British Embassy in Moscow. Before joining Global Partners & Associates, she worked for almost a decade for the Europe Programme of ARTICLE 19, the global campaign for free expression. As Programme Officer and subsequently Senior Programme Officer at ARTICLE 19 Federica managed several freedom of expression projects in Eastern Europe as well as writing analytical reports on law and practice in the region; she has closely collaborated with local organisations and trained local journalists and lawyers on international standards of freedom of expression and information. In 2001 she also worked as campaigner on the Former Yugoslavia for Amnesty International. Federica has a LLM in International Human Rights Law from the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex and a MA in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies. She is currently working on a PhD on minority protection in Russia in University College London’s School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies. Her working languages are English, French, Russian and Italian."
