{{#badges: ToxicSludge}} ERTH Food is a sewage sludge compost made by the company ERTH Products. On its website, ERTH boasts that ERTH Food should be used on vegetable gardens to increase yield, produce a more vigorous plant, and to help plants resist drought.[1]

To produce ERTH Food, ERTH Products uses the aerated static pile process of composting to process sewage sludge together with "other organic waste products, such as peanut hulls," to make what it markets as "a 100% natural organic fertilizer and soil amendment."[2] The ingredients are composted for 21 days, during which time the pile heats up to 155 degrees Farhenheit. The compost is then screened and cured for 30 days. At this time, ERTH's website says its product is "100% organic fertilizer!" (However, sewage sludge is strictly prohibited by the USDA's organic standards.
