Statements made by the Labor Party Premier David Bartlett on the Tasmanian state election include:
- July 17, 2009: Bartlett stated that "I'm fully expecting this election to go down to the wire as to whether Tasmanians want to re-elect a renewed Labor Government for the future or whether they want to see a hung parliament with the Greens controlling jobs and the economy in Tasmania." The Mercury also reported that "their election platform was based on managing water assets to make Tasmania Australia's food bowl, rolling out a fibre optic network, investing in renewable energy and education and creating 'new generation' jobs."
