Charles Sampford

Charles Sampford "is the Foundation Professor of Law and Director of the Key Centre for Ethics, Law, Justice and Governance at Griffith University. His research interests include, applied ethics, constitutional law and theory, and legal education.

"After graduating with First Class Honours in law, philosophy and politics from the University of Melbourne, Prof. Sampford graduated with a D.Phil. from Oxford University in 1984. He returned to Oxford in 1997 as a Visiting Research Fellow at St. John's College.

"Prof. Sampford has authored or edited 14 books and over 60 articles in his fields of expertise. In 2000, he received a Fulbright Senior Harvard Fellowship to undertake research on global ethics.

"As a complement to his academic activities, Prof. Sampford serves as a legal advisor to the Scrutiny of Bill Committee of Queensland Parliament and he was a member of the World Bank Mission to advise the Indonesian Government on governance reforms.

"Prof. Sampford played a central role in the creation of the International Institute of Public Ethics. He currently serves as Vice-President of the IIPE." [1]
