Biographical Information
"Carol Barrett is a graduate of the school of drawing and painting at Edinburgh College of Art. She lives and works in Edinburgh, Scotland. Carol regularly travels to Africa (Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Tanzania and Kenya) to study, sketch and photograph wildlife in its natural habitat. Carol was the Artist in Residence of the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland in 1994 and has continued to exhibit in solo and joint exhibitions with RZSS. She has exhibited with the International Primatological Society, The Wildlife Art Society International, The National Exhibition of Wildlife Art, The Marwell International Wildlife Art Society, and in 2009 was short-listed by the BBC Wildlife Magazine's Art Competition in their Endangered Species category. Carol has completed over 570 commissioned works in a variety of media; some are in private collections in Africa, Australia, Europe and the USA."[1]
She is married to John Barrett.
