Charleston coal exports
With coal exports increasing along the US East Coast, the Charleston, SC Shipyard River Terminal coal export facility, owned by Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, is in the process of expansion. In May, 2011, CSX railroads confirmed plans to expand export facilities by 7 million short tons per year, probably in Philadelphia starting in 2011 and in South Carolina by 2013. [4]
