The America APPG (full name All Party Parliamentary Group on America) exists to 'To prompt friendly relations and mutual understanding between members of Congress and Members of Parliament; to arrange for the exchange of visits and information; and to provide opportunities for discussion'
It has become traditional for the Joint Presidents of the Group to be the current speakers of the House of Commons and Lords, and the Vice-Presidents to include ex-Speakers of the House of Commons, current and former Prime Ministers, Party leaders and Foreign Secretaries.
