The African Institute for Agrarian Studies (AIAS) "is a regional policy research organization that focuses on influencing land and agrarian reform policies through multidisciplinary social science research, policy dialogues, training and information dissemination." [1]

"The African Institute for Agrarian Studies (AIAS) was founded in 2002. It is legally registered as a trust and a not-for-profit organisation, independent of any government, private firm or funding agency. The AIAS has been registered, through a Deed of Trust by the Registrar of Deeds in Zimbabwe . The mission of the AIAS is to provide objective policy analysis backed by solid research in order to enhance the quality of debate on land and natural resources issues in Africa." [2]
