"Adebayo Olukoshi, of Nigerian origin, is the current Director of Africa and West Asia of the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA). He holds a PhD in Politics from the University of Leeds and has over 35 years of experience in the international relations, governance and human rights area, both in the academic sector and in intergovernmental institutions.

"Olukoshi was a member of the African Union Assessment Panel and has chaired the Board of several organizations including European Centre for Development Policy Management. He also previously served as Director of the UN African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) in Senegal, ED of the Africa Governance Institute, Executive Secretary of the Council for Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA), Director of Research at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs; Senior Research Fellow/Research Programme Coordinators of the Nordic Africa Institute in Uppsala, and as Senor Programme Staff at the South Centre in Geneva." Adebayo Olukoshi "is currently Executive Secretary of CODESRIA. He is a Professor of International Relations and has formerly served as Director of Research at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs." [2]
