African General Equity (AGE) Group "is a lead partner in a social development investment company consolidating the financial, information technology, Intellectual property and management services into a single synergistic unit, with the aim of bringing about broad based empowerment.

"The restructured AGE Group Consortium are Mr Max Sisulu, Prof. Mohammed Jahed and Mr Reggie Naidoo. Whilst the group structure reflects a hierarchy of a holding company and subsidiaries for legal and administrative purposes, the group does not function along divisional lines.

"AGE is a vehicle that seeks to partner and benefit the Non Governmental Sector given the dwindling foreign grants since the advent of democracy. Historically, the NGO movement in this country has been very effective in benefiting the lives of the previously disadvantaged poor masses through programmes that were largely funded by foreign donors."
