Concord Coalition
The Concord Coalition a 501(c)(3) non-profit that describes itself as "a non-partisan, grassroots organization dedicated to educating the public about the causes and consequences of federal budget deficits, the long-term challenges facing America’s unsustainable entitlement programs, and how to build a sound foundation for economic growth. The Concord Coalition began in the early 1990’s as the unified voice of concerned citizens who were motivated to take a stand for future generations of Americans. These founders believed, like the Minutemen at Concord, that we have a moral obligation to leave the country better off for our children and grandchildren. The Concord Coalition’s national field staff and loyal group of volunteers cover the country holding lectures, leading interactive exercises, conducting classes, giving media interviews, and briefing elected officials and their staff.”[1] "The Concord Coalition was founded in 1992 by the late former Senator Paul Tsongas (D-MA), former Senator Warren Bruce Rudman (R-NH), and former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Peter G. Peterson. Former Senator Bob Kerrey (D-NE) was named a co-chair of the Concord Coalition in January 2002."[1]

Peter G. Peterson is a co-founder of the Concord Coalition.[2]According to the Huffington Post, the Concord Coaliton is Peter Peterson's "original vehicle for deficit reduction activities."[3]

Activities
Fiscal Solutions Tour
The Fiscal Solutions tour, according to the Concord Coalition, "is designed to help Americans think constructively about how to build a stronger economic future by meeting the challenges of unsustainable budget policies, spiraling debt, low savings rates, dangerous reliance on foreign lenders, and the growing needs of an aging population."[7] The tour was conducted with support from the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, and included the following primary speakers: Robert Brixby, Douglas Holtz-Eakin, William Novelli, Isabel Sawhill, and David M. Walker.
Fiscal Wake-Up Tour
The Fiscal Wake-Up tour began in 2005 and was a joint initiative by the Concord Coalition, the Budgeting for National Priorities Project, the Brookings Institute, the Heritage Foundation, and David M. Walker, President and CEO of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation.[8] Much like the Fiscal Solutions tour, the Fiscal Wake-Up Tour was intended to educate its audience with a fiscally conservative point of view, emphasizing that reducing the debt is not only an economic issue, but a moral one.[8]
