America APPG

The America APPG exists to 'To prompt friendly relations and mutual understanding between members of Congress and Members of Parliament; to arrange for the exchange of visits and information; and to provide opportunities for discussion'

This group is quite interesting. It contains

• the current speakers of the house of commons and lords (Falconer and Martin)
• the only ex-speaker of the house of commons in Parliament (Boothroyd)
• 3 prime ministers (Blair, Callaghan, Thatcher) - all the PMs in parliament
• party leaders and former party leaders (Kennedy, Owen, Howard, Hague, Duncan Smith)
• foreign secretaries - Robin Cook, Jack Straw, Francis Pym, Lord Carrington, Douglas Hurd

Or, effectively the entire British establishment.
