VoteVets.org was founded and is supported by veterans, its website states. [1].
Co-founder and Chairman Jon Soltz "organized veterans in Pennsylvania for John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign, and his VoteVets boasts an advisory board dominated by such Democratic veterans as Kerrey and Clark." [2]
Sara Fritz of the Center for Public Integrity interviewed Jon Soltz on September 26, 2007. Here are some of his comments: "Our position is that the Iraq War is a distraction. We are not an anti-war organization. What we are is a pro-military organization. ... (Q. Who are your biggest contributors?) ... Well, I can’t disclose our private donors. I mean they don’t wish to be disclosed. Well, we have received some support from Democracy Alliance this year (2007), but only through a special funding clause. Now a lot of donors that give to Democracy Alliance can also give to us. But it’s not through the Democracy Alliance." [3]
