William T. Merritt, "a pioneer in Black Philanthropy, is President and CEO of the National Black United Fund, Inc. (NBUF). For more than thirty years, Merritt has used his professional expertise and leadership abilities in public policy, governance, youth services, social change and Black philanthropy. Presently, Merritt is an active board member of the Volunteer Consulting Group, Southern Rural Development Initiative, National Committee on Responsive Philanthropy and the National Center on Black Philanthropy. A social worker by profession, Merritt has a deep passion for policies that impact on child and family issues in the Black American community." [1]
