"William Macaulay is the chairman and chief executive officer of First Reserve Corporation, a private equity investment firm focused on the energy industry, and has been with the company since its founding in 1983. Prior to joining First Reserve he was a co-founder of Meridien Capital Company, a private equity buyout firm. From 1972 to 1982, he was with Oppenheimer & Co., where he served as director of corporate finance with direct responsibility for the firm’s buyout business. He also served president of Oppenheimer Energy Corporation. Mr Macaulay is chairman of the Board of Dresser-Rand and is a director ofWeatherford International. He also serves on numerous private energy company Boards. In addition, he is chairman of the Board of the Rogosin Medical Institute and chairman of the advisory Board of the City University of New York. Mr Macaulay holds a B.B.A. degree, Magna Cum Laude in Economics from City College of New York, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also has received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Baruch College." [1]
