On January 30 2004, in Nanyuki Kenya, "In the presence of distinguished guests and world press Don Hunt, Chairman, announces the formation of the: Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy." Others at this meeting included Francis Maina (William Holden Wildlife Education Center), Andre de La Porte (United Nations Development Program), Bongo Woodley (Sr. Warden Mount Kenya National Park), Elizabeth Wambwa (Kenya Wildlife Services) and Chris Gakuha (United Nations Development Program).
