Emory was Peter Castano's treating physician and a graduate of Tulane Medical School. He was a Pulmonologist at Ochsner Hospital since 1974 and Head of Pulmonology Section at Ochsner Hospital since 1980, circa 1994 and head of the lung transplant program at Ochsner (B. Emory 5/26/94).
