Willem-Jan Laan is the Director of Global External Affairs for Unilever. He is also on the board of the International Food & Agricultural Trade Policy Council.
- "Willem-Jan Laan is Director, Global External affairs at Unilever and based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. A Dutch national, he joined Unilever in 1995 as Agricultural Economic Adviser. Before joining Unilever he headed the Trade Policy Division of the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture. Mr. Laan represents Unilever in external associations like CIAA and BUSINESSEUROPE in Brussels (areas: Agricultural Policy, Trade Policy, Biotechnology, Sustainable Agriculture and Renewable Energy). Current positions include Chairman Committee Multilateral Trade Policy of VNO-NCW (The Hague); Chairman WTO Agriculture Working Group of the Confederation of European Business (BUSINESSEUROPE); Vice-Chairman of the Food and Agriculture Committee of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD (BIAC); and Vice-Chairman of the Trade and Competitiveness Committee (TCO) of the Confederation of the Food and Drink Industries of the EU (CIAA).[1]
