"The Web of Hope was started in 2002 by Colin Hudson, Rory Spowers and Tim Willmott. You can find out more about our history here...

"Tim Willmott runs the project... The first in our eminent coterie of contributors is Bill Scott, Honorary Professor at the University of Bath, where his research focused on the role of learning in sustainable development... Second and third in the list of eminent contributors are Derek Adams and Joshua Konkankoh. " [1]

The Web of Hope grew out of the Village of Hope, which was first developed for Rio+2, the UN Conference on Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States (SIDS), held in Barbados in 1994, by Dame Nita Barrow, then Governor General of Barbados, and Dr. Colin Hudson, Director of Treading Lightly (now the name of the organisation that runs the project)."
