Biographical Information

"Dr Victoria Samuel is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who specialises in working with children, young people and families. Victoria has extensive experience of using CBT to help children and adolescents experiencing a wide range of psychological difficulties including: anxiety; panic; phobias; low mood and depression; obsessive compulsions and intrusions; and adjustment difficulties after trauma and loss. Victoria also draws on mindfulness based CBT to help clients to feel more grounded in the present and more accepting of fluctuating thoughts and feelings. She places a strong emphasis on working collaboratively with young people, drawing on their unique strengths and resources.

"Victoria is trained in EMDR and is familiar with working with children and adults who have experienced traumatic events, with particular expertise in working with people who been involved in road traffic accidents. Prior to completing the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Victoria gained a Masters in Health Psychology and continues to have a particular interest in the effects of physical health conditions and their treatment on emotional well-being.

"In addition to working in private practice, Victoria works within the NHS in a specialist paediatric service. She has previously worked in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and a NHS Child Disability Service"[1]
