Professor Victor G.Korgun is a frequent visitor to Afghanistan in the period from 1966 up to the present time.
He is the author of four monographs on Afghanistan:
- 1979 - Afghanistan in the 20-th of the XX century
- 1983 - Intelligencia in the political life of Afghanistan
- 2000 - Afghanistan: politics and politicians
- 2004 - History of Afghanistan in the XXth century
Today professor V. Korgun heads the Afghanistan Studies Department in the Institute of Oriental Studies and is a leading expert on contemporary Afghanistan.
