Biographical Information

Mr. Johnson has been a director of US Oil Sands "since August 2006 and became the Chairman of the Board in April 2011. He has an extensive career in the energy industry after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba in 1966. He worked for Imperial Oil and Exxon until the early 1980's and then went into the independent oil business. Mr. Johnson has been involved with a number of companies in the Canadian oil and gas industry, including as CEO of ELAN Energy which was sold in 1997. Since 1997 he has been an independent investor through a family company, KristErin Resources. Mr. Johnson has been a director of many public and private companies in the energy business over the past 20 years. He is currently Chairman of Petromanas Energy Inc. and a director of Gran Tierra Energy Inc. and various private companies. He has also been a member of the board of the Calgary Opera since 2000 and the Victoria Conservatory of Music since 2011." [1]
