Unlikely Giving
Unlikely Giving, (formerly Zero Zero One) is a Koch-backed 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization, which means that it can legally funnel up to half of its spending into political campaigning. Zero Zero One was formed in 2018 and made its application for nonprofit status in 2019.[1] In its tax filings, Zero Zero One had declined to supply its mission, and has only stated that its primary purpose is “grant-making.” When it changed its name in 2022, its mission was disclosed as "to support organizations that help people reach their full potential by understanding the nature of their perception box."[2]
Nonprofits such as Unlikely Giving funnel vast sums of dark money through donor advised funds like the National Philanthropic Trust, a clear indication that the expenditures are not actually charitable.[3]
This nonprofit was first surfaced in 2022 by Bloomberg.[4]
