Universidad Autónoma Chapingo is a Mexican agricultural university. It was formerly called the Escuela Nacional de Agricultura (National School of Agriculture).[1] It was renamed in 1978.
The university was founded February 22, 1854 at the Monastery of San Jacinto in Mexico City. In 1923, it was moved to the former Hacienda de Chapingo of President Álvaro Obregón in Texcoco, Mexico State, where it remains today. The school was the site of a research station established in the Mexican Agricultural Program, also known as the Green Revolution. Graduate studies were added to the university in 1959.
